Purewellness Burdock Root Powder is a finely milled botanical ingredient produced from the root of Arctium lappa. Burdock has a long history of use in traditional European and Asian practices. In Japan, burdock is known as gobo and is commonly used in everyday cooking, teas and traditional preparations.

Burdock Root Powder has a distinctive earthy, mildly bitter flavour that complements herbal beverages, smoothies, soups, broths and savoury recipes. Its fine consistency also makes it suitable for dry botanical blends, powdered drink formulations and commercial food manufacturing.

This product contains no added anti-caking agents. Because natural botanical powders readily absorb moisture, some clumping may occur. This is a normal characteristic and does not affect the product’s quality. Any clumps can be broken apart before use.

How to Use

Herbal Drinks: Stir into hot water to prepare an earthy burdock drink. Allow it to steep, then strain if preferred.

Smoothies: Blend a small amount into smoothies or vegetable drinks.

Soups and Broths: Add to soups, stews and broths for a deeper, earthy flavour.

Tea Blends: Combine with ginger, dandelion root, cinnamon or other botanical ingredients to create a customised herbal infusion.

Cooking: Add to savoury sauces, seasoning blends and Japanese-inspired recipes.

Food Formulations: Suitable for powdered beverages, botanical blends and other commercial food applications.

Recommended Use

Start with ¼ teaspoon and gradually increase to approximately ½–1 teaspoon according to taste. Mix with 250 mL of hot water, blend into a beverage or add directly to food.

Natural root powder may not dissolve completely and can settle after mixing. Stir before drinking or strain if preferred.
